The lagoon has rooms of its own — mangrove channels, open water, quiet bays — and the boat is how you visit all of them in one gentle hour or two. A guided boat ride at Lake 10 costs Rs. 5,000 per group, not per person, so a family or a party of friends shares one fare.
The ride
Your boatman is local; this is his water. The route eases out across the open lagoon, then threads into the mangroves where the light goes green and the birds take over — herons hunched on roots, kingfishers ambushing from low branches, waders working the mud. The pace is deliberately slow. This is a looking trip, not a speed trip.
When to go
- Sunset is the classic: the lagoon turns to brass and the day's heat lets go. Ask us to time it so you're on open water for the last light.
